The CPUC sets rates every three years in a public process, which includes public participation hearings held throughout SCE’s 50,000-square-mile service area. SCE files thousands of pages of documents to detail why the funding is needed and responds to requests from the commission’s public interest arm, the Office of Ratepayer Advocates, and other public interest groups.

Even though the lawsuit against LADWP was finalized on July 7th, 2017, it doesn’t mean that the ongoing utility billing errors, overcharges, delayed bills, or estimated bills are gone. We have certainly not seen any decline in LADWP’s utility billing errors since 2014.
Believe it or not, the vast majority of associations and businesses pay their utility bills largely by guesswork. Since these services are essential to operations, most people pay the utility bills without question. In so doing, you are probably paying considerably more than you should!
